Compensation

Hourly Rate: $50.63 – $64.38 per hour (based on experience)

Additional Compensation: Eligible for an additional 10% lead differential on base rate

Location: Nassau County, Long Island, NY - Onsite

Position Summary

As a Lead Laboratory Generalist, you will perform advanced laboratory testing and provide high-quality diagnostic support across multiple laboratory disciplines. Working under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will ensure accurate and timely clinical results while serving as a mentor and role model for laboratory staff. This leadership role requires a high level of responsibility, technical expertise, and commitment to quality patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

Shift details: Night Shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Hours per week: 40

Contract length (if applicable): Direct Hire

Key Duties:

Perform laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Provide accurate and timely clinical laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment

Serve as a resource and mentor to laboratory staff, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and technical expertise

Ensure proper utilization of laboratory equipment, supplies, and resources while maintaining quality control standards

Collaborate with laboratory leadership to support efficient operations and high-quality patient care services

Requirements

Education

Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Medical Technology or related field

Preferred (if applicable): N/A

Licenses & Certifications

Required: Unrestricted New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in good standing

Additional certifications (if applicable): N/A

Skills:

Strong knowledge of Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, and general laboratory practices

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor laboratory personnel

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality patient care
